Beach House at Ninomiya

Published in ‘Progressive Architecture’ December 1989, Robert de Jager was part of the Santos Architect / Philadelphia & Ohdera Architect / Tokyo team that worked on the design and documentation of this beach house located on the coast about 50km from Tokyo close to Mt Fuji. De Jager was involved with design development studies for the building, characterized by the rhythmic geometric modulations woven into the plan, as well as the ‘tree’ columns which emphasize the sylvan context.
